This is Nisis Ipsili. An unihabited island just a couple of miles from Kiladhia Bay. We use it as a waypoint whether coming from Porto Khelli or as we did last year, crossing from Astrous.

This blot on the landscape was once a naturist hotel, built back in the 70’s. The perfect place for naked sunbathing and swimming. A lovely beach, totally secluded with nothing surrounding the hotel. It could accommodate 600 people as well as employing all the staff required to run and maintain it.
The local Greek Orthodox Church clergy decided to start a petition to get it closed down. They succeeded. All the jobs were lost and now it has been stripped, covered in graffiti and is left to crumble. What a waste. Someone lost an awful lot of money !

Akra Karteros at the end of Salanti Beach. We are slowly exploring the anchorages close to our base.
We may not go far, but we are enjoying maxing out our time between therapy treatments.

This is one of our favourite anchorages. Just 20 minutes from our main anchorage in Kiladhia bay.
Whilst we were anchored here, close to the chapel, we watched and listened to a Greek Christening. Caterers arrived and set up tables for drinks and cakes. Guests arrived dressed in their finery and the local Pappas took the service. It was a joy to watch and listen to.

Aunt Koulas birthday is 28th August. Mine is 29th.
Cousin Joyce was going to surprise Koula by travelling from Athens the day before her birthday and spending a few days with her at the villa in Porto Heli. Joyce asked if we would be close by and if so could we join them but keep it all as a surprise? As we were still in Kilada getting to Porto Heli was easy so we sailed down and anchored in the bay . The next day, Joyce picked us up in her car and we spent the evening at a beach taverna. Next day, we all met up for a swim and time together on the beach. A lovely birthday with lovely family.
We are still here. There has been some weird weather for 3 days. Thunderstorms, lightening and a smattering of rain. Today the Greek Met Office put out a severe thunderstorm warning on our mobile phones. As I write, we can hear it and see it coming. It might, just might, miss us !!!
