Martha's Vineyard

The Stolen Hour crew was excited to visit Martha's Vineyard on our trip north. We had planned to tour the island on our trip south in September, but a couple of tropical storms forced us to skip the Cape Cod area and instead to scoot up Narragansett Bay. We left Cuttyhunk and rode a favorable current up Vineyard Sound to Vineyard Haven. After 2 days there, we sailed over to Edgartown where we were able to anchor in lovely Katama Bay enabled by northerly winds (Katama Bay is normally closed to anchoring except in northerly winds). Favorite experiences include:
Christine: I really enjoyed visiting Alley's General Store in West Tisbury. It was truly an island delight - they had everything from groceries to kids toys to fishing tackle and hot coffee. Hannah: I really liked the family arcade in Oak Bluffs. Playing Skeeball with everyone was super fun. Hayden: I loved the candy store in Edgartown. They had every single candy including jawbreakers. Peter: We had a fantastic time watching the U.S. play England at The Wharf pub in Edgartown. It was a ton of fun having the Bojangles crew with us watching the game, eating wings, etc. Strolling on south beach in Katama Bay was also quite memorable.
