Saturday- Summer Stock in Winter

12 January 2008 | Ensenada, Mexico
Heavy fog lifting to mostly sunny, moderate temp, light wind, dense evening fog
Chores as usual until we slid down the street to the taco stand for a quick dinner, we each had 3 tacos and a horchata (creamy rice drink) for $100 pesos (about $10 US dollars). We were stuffed! I had a large, roasted jalapeno which may haunt me later. Then we were off to the theatre with ten or so other area yatistas. We rode with Victor & Andre, the resident artist couple I've mentioned. The play was about 30 minutes by car away in a summer stock like theatre building and very well done, "A Majority of One". Afterwards we were invited to one of the local patron of the arts home for a cast party (there were less than 30 people in the audience and as far as I know they all could have been invited). We however showed up and as we skulked around the house trying to find the right entrance we thought how it was like we were crashing a party in high school.
The home was lovely, lots of art on the walls (just like mom's) and it was WARM. The first time since we left Florida that we didn't have a chill. We had lots of fun socializing with the cast and the locals, it was nice to be in a land based home for a little while! Stayed out really late..........12am. As we were driving home there was dense fog and after making it throught the difficult curving mountain road section, the driver missed a stop sign due to poor visibility. Unfortunately, an officer of the law saw it and true to our high school type adventure we got pulled over. After digging for all the proper papers to show and a little hand slapping we were on our way home again.

Vessel Name: Sunbow
Vessel Make/Model: Chris White Design Atlantic 46 LR Catamaran
Hailing Port: Fort Myers, FL
Crew: John Kremski & Sharon Del Bianco
About:
Although mid-westerners by birth we call the southwest gulf coast of Florida our "home port". John has been sailing since he was six while Sharon is a novice by comparision with only 17 years behind a boat wheel. [...]
Extra: We started cruising full time in November of 2007. It was a rough start with lots of adjustments but after about 2 years we got our "sea legs" for the lifestyle. It´s hard now to imagine any other home than being in Sunbow on the water.

The definition of a "sunbow" is ...... a rainbow-like display of colors resulting from refraction of sunlight through a spray of water...rainbow, moonbow & sunbow!
