Awesome sailing week

14 April 2013 | Bluff House Marina on Green Turtle Cay
Full sails
We are now relaxing on Sunday after a VERY hectic Saturday. We sailed over from Archer Cay to Green Turtle Cay on Saturday morning, then spent the whole afternoon washing the full enclosure, filling up with water, doing laundry, cleaning floors, heads, galley, etc! Now I get to recount what another cruiser said about the cruising lifestyle. Cruising is normal life and boat maintenance in exotic and beautiful places. It's true! So much of our life is filled with doing mundane things, but then I look around and give myself a shake at all the beauty around us.

This last week has had us experiencing the best sailing aboard Sunkissed EVER. One day we sailed a short hop over to Hope Town from Marsh Harbor. We were going to go further, but the tides were on the ebb, so we anchored just outside Hope Town for the afternoon. Later that day with the rising tide, we motored south along the shallow waters beside Elbow Cay to anchor near Tahiti Beach. Then it was a motor on to Lynyard Cay, just a few miles south of Tahiti. Next day gave us a beautiful sail from Lynyard to Little Harbor. The following day we sailed from Little Harbor all the way up to Marsh Harbor. We had the boat on every point of sail along the way in 15-20 knot winds from the SE. After provisioning in Marsh Harbor, we sailed up in 15-20 knots to Archer Cay where we anchored for the night. Then yesterday, we had another great sail in SSE winds, 12-15 knots from Archer to Green Turtle. We had to pass through the infamous Whale Cay Passage. Given the winds, the passage, which can be very rough was as flat as a pancake.

We consider this week a big success as we put very few engine hours on the meter, and had so much fun sailing!
