Last night we joined about 200 aboard the destroyer John S. McCain for a wonderful reception on the flight deck. Admiral Willard, Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, showed up along with crews from the Australian and French warships, the Tongan military, local officials, the Peace Corps, and us cruisers.
We did not get an invitation to the formal Ball which started at 10pm ashore which was a good thing as we would have been in a fix without tuxedo, formal gown, tiara and long white gloves.
Our photo demonstrates how well the formal Navy uniform works as a babe magnet with Amber, Susie and Susan firmly attached to the Commanding Officer of the McCain.
