Fiji arrival
21 August 2008 | Lautoka, Fiji
Surprise
We had an "interesting" passage. It seemed to be either motoring or flying along in heavy winds. Slightly longer than 3 days for 530 miles; arriving early afternoon and shuffling the papers to get checked in to Fiji.
We're currently at Vuda Point Marina, which is lovely and our friends from the boat Magnum are here. Kara, their 5 year old, greeted our arrival with cheers, cartwheels and smiles from the banks of the entry. Water, power and wifi will change the living experience aboard Surprise dramatically; not hearing the diesel run twice a day may cause some withdrawal, but we'll get used to it fast.
Our photo, shades of the J.S. McCain, was taken by another boat when we were in Pangai, Tonga. James and Amber are cruising the south pacific on their 26' Contessa; that's right 26'; they're young.
