Finally made it to South Carolina!
17 November 2018
After 4 nights of unsettled and cold weather, we finally ventured out of the marina in Southport. It was in the low 40s at first but the sun warmed things up quickly and the wind was tolerable. We made a long run of 10 hours and decided a low of 41 predicted for last night warranted another night in a marina. Today we had a beautiful run down the Waccamaw River and we're staged tonight at anchor in Winyah Bay (off Georgetown, SC), to head offshore early tomorrow. It looks like we have a good weather window for the next couple of days so if conditions remain favorable, we hope to go all the way to St. Augustine, arriving Tuesday morning. Maybe there it will be warmer???
