Florida, at last
25 November 2018
After enjoying the scenery in the remainder of SC, we spent Thanksgiving Day crossing 3 Sounds in Georgia, in 20-25 kt NE winds. Fortunately the wind was mostly behind us, but we were happy to drop anchor and put the propane heater on in another beautiful river. After 7 nights at anchor, to wait out rough conditions in the one remaining big Sound in Georgia, and so Dave could watch the Ohio State/Michigan football game, we spent 2 nights at the Jekyll Harbor Marina. Once a playground for the rich and famous, Jekyll Island is now a protected park with a national historic district. We had never stopped there before and enjoyed exploring it by foot and by golf cart. We finally crossed into Florida today but, alas, the temps are still in the 40s at night!!
