In March 2023, we flew back to Cetacea in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. We had a bottom job (new paint on the bottom) done in the shipyard. We left PNG in May sailing to Indonesia. Half way there, we had a generator heat exchanger go out, so we ended up sailing to Darwin, Australia, which was the closest place we could get repairs made. We found that we got water in our fuel (in PNG) and it caused other problems as well. We got the engine and generator problems fixed and took off for Indonesia again, only to have more problems. So we boomeranged back to Darwin. We were in Darwin for almost 4 months, fixing one thing, only to have another thing break, fixing that thing, only to have something else break. And, each time, it took weeks to get the parts shipped in. But, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Darwin!
Finally, we left again on Friday September 13th, crossing our fingers! We had a nice 4-day sail to Kupang, Timor. We cleared in and did a tiny tour of Kupang with our buddy boat, Rumb Runner. From there, we sailed overnight to Ende, Flores. We had a full-day tour with our buddy boat to see the Kelimutu mystical colored lakes, a traditional village, and the beautiful country side with all the rice fields. From there, we had another overnight sail to Komodo islands to see the Komodo Dragons, the pink beaches, climb Padar Island, do some snorkeling, and visit Labuan Bajo for some provisioning and eating out.

From there, we sailed 2 days to Sumbawa, where we toured Moyo Island to see a most spectacular waterfall, and swam with the whale sharks in Saleh Bay, which was a definite bucket list item!

From there we sailed to Marina Del Ray marina on Lombock Island where we could get a replacement depth meter and get some work done on our port engine, which was not working. We did some nice snorkeling and hiking around the tiny island there. Then we sailed 4 days to the Karimunjawa Archipelago, which is very remote and not visited by most yachts. We did a little tour of the main island and had a great day out snorkeling on a private tour boat. From there, we sailed another 4 days to Great Konga Isalnd and then 4 day sails up to the Nongsa Marina, just across the straight from Singapore. We left the boat in Nongsa Marina in November and spent 4 days touring Singapore, before flying home for the holidays.
More Later, Cheers!
