Passage to Galapagos
29 March 2014 | Pacific Ocean Balboa, Panama to Galapagos, Ecuador
Steve
We are in the third day of our passage. It started from Contador Island, The Pearl Islands of Panama as we head to the Galapagos. We now have 1-2 knots of wind in our face and are motoring. Thursday and Friday we had between 20 knots and 40 knots of wind. It was quite a busy time. The instruments recorded a gust to 54.6 knots. The forecast when we left was 15-20.
Anyway, we still have about 3 days to go. Things here are fine. Broke this stupid boom vang again. So, no mainsail available, but from the looks of things we wouldn't have used it anyway. Hopefully, we can get things in and out of Galapagos.
