COOL & RAINY
What a treat to sleep in until 8:00! We went to marina clubhouse for their complimentary coffee and 'continental' breakfast, and chatted with the crew of Narcilion, the sailboat we'd rushed with through Charleston Harbour. Afterwards, I did a couple of loads of laundry & visited Mighty Fine to discuss dinner plans. We're very sad as it's our last night together! Tomorrow we move on northward while Donna & Craig stay at Osprey, to prep their boat to be 'wet stored' for the summer. As we chatted, the threatening clouds began to rumble, and I just managed to outrace the heavy rain back to the boat. This was an unfortunate way to end our travels together, but we all spent the rest of the day on our respective boats, safe and dry from the thunderstorm.
We decided to go to a local Italian restaurant for dinner. Howerver, 'local' meant a 15 minute car ride, and the restaurant sent their driver, Tanner to pick us up in his BMW. He was an interesting young guy, and we learned lots about his life in Myrtle Beach. After a tasty dinner and a quick stop at the grocery store next door, we were driven back to the marina. And then, since Mar-a-Lago was leaving at the crack of dawn, we had to say our sad goodbye's to Donna & Craig...we've been buddy boats for all 6 north/south trips along most of the ICW. That's a lot of water under our keels, a lot of "here's to us" happy hours, and a tremendous amount of fun along the way...thanks for all those adventures and swell days, it was great!
