Leaving Texas
14 January 2013
cold and cloudy
It's time to Go and I haven't "clean my room." But I did clean out the storage bld. and almost organize the shop. My siblings will just have to manage the rest of my junk.
Well I just finished the last two important things on the list. I got my boat insurance papers and a battery for the autopilot wireless remote. They both took at least 30 days to get. Those other 12 things will just have to get done another day. Some are still on order. Why don't stores keep stuff in inventory? At least I haven't added anything to the list today except to provision the boat with stuff my crew might want to eat and drink.
The weather forcast is not the best for crossing the gulf of Mexico, but for this time of year it won't get much better. It'll be cold and windy in the morning, just hoping the rain stay away. There isn't another cold front forecasted for the rest of the week, so we should be able to make it accross the Gulf with just the current ass kicking. Looking for at least 2 days of strong north winds until we catch up with the cold front that's stalled in the middle of the GoM. Then it's anybody's guess.
We will be heading for Isla Mujeres, Mex. as the first port of call. But if we are making good time and nothing major need fixing then we will continue on to San Pedro, Belize or to Belize City and bypass all the paper work hassel of Mex. From there I'll have to make it to Roatan by myself.
We'll proberly have breakfast at 0600 at Skippers rest. if anyone want to say bye. Then once it warm up at least to 40 then we're out of here. Any question? Don't expect a quick answer.
