After a few days at Harness Creek we moved over to the Rhode River and the SSCA Gam. The weather was miserable with winds 35-40 knots in a nor'easter that blew for several days, but at least the hurricane went the other way. It kept the boat attendance for the gam down, but many people came via car. We did charge our batteries well though, with all the wind. There were several good seminars and, as always, we came away with new info. We then moved over to Galesville and the West River for the Whitby gam. Only 2 boats showed up because of the weather, but people attendance was good. Another good get together with good friends sharing information. We spent a day at the Annapolis boat show with Ted and Alice ( fellow Whitby owners) giving us a ride. Then it was time to start heading south. We made a run to Solomon's with a good NE breeze and after a quick overnight ran down to Deltaville. Another quiet night and then yesterday, with an early start, we ran down the bay and through Norfolk to Great Bridge. We tied up to the wall and ran to the Supermarket to top up the fridge. The bad news yesterday is that the watermaker pooped out. Apparently the silt in the Bay water made it past the filters and into the mechanism and shut it down. After consulting with the technical support crew, we decided to pickle it and have it serviced when we get home. I'm sure we are going to miss it though. Tomorrow we plan to fuel up, top off the water tanks and amble on south. I'll post this via radio since internet is spotty.
