Remember what I said about plans written in sand at low tide, well the tide came in and all the plans were changed. A call from daughter Lisa, gave us an excuse to come to the frozen north for a visit. Lisa has issues that Mom and Dad could help with, so it was a nobrainer to jump on a plane and up here to have a visit.
We renewed our place at the Seafood Shack Marina, they were very gracious and allowed us to stay. We caught the late direct flight to Islip, NY, only a short distance from Lisa's as place, so it was fairly painless. It is cold but not too bad, although it is supposed to be colder this weekend and I think there was some snow last night. It will make us appreciate the relatively warm weather down south even more.
We had a chance to visit with Lisa's good friend Alona and new addition Sienna. Alona is also a PHD candidate and is writing her Dissertation as well as teaching like Lisa. She has a full plate with the addition of Mommy duties. Molly really enjoyed playing Grandma for a while. We plan to see more of them when we have dinner with them and Martin tonite.
Meanwhile we are enjoying a surprise visit with Lisa and currently plan to return south and to the boat next Wednesday. Then we can get back to the plans to leave and head to the Bahamas. More later.
