Update from the San Blas

Well ,we are still sitting in the same spot, but getting ready to move today. We are in an anchorage at Yansalidup Island with clear water and nice breezes and no waves. It has been easy to just relax and take it easy, doing a few maintenance items and snorkeling. The wind has really been blowing, 25 knots with gusts to 30.
Today we’ll head over to the Hollandes group and spend some time there and eventually wind up in a small town called Nargana to get some propane and groceries. There are guys that come around sporadically in their pangas with fruit and veggies so we keep pretty well stocked. We’ve been making bread with good success so we’re not going hungry. We heard there may be a Super Bowl event going on there, although we haven’t been following the season at all.
We’ve been watching the weather, and a couple of short windows have come by, but we spent so much on clearing in here we are inclined to stick around for a while. We’ll probably get serious in early March and start looking for windows north.
We’ve also been watching the security situation further north and are somewhat concerned with the area around Honduras, as there have been several instances of piracy reported in the area. We may refine our itinerary depending on how that looks.
Otherwise all is well. Best to all.
