Leaving Australia at Thursday Island (the last place to check out of Australia on the northern tip)

With the new alternator installed and working we were ready to leave Thursday Island and start our trip to Debut, Indonesia where all the boats were headed for. We left on Tuesday July 21 and arrived in Debut on Sunday July 26. Some boats had already left so we figured we would be in the middle of he pack, so to speak. Weather was good but it took some doing the first couple of days to get the sails set right. We always shorten sail at night because you never know what might come and it is much more difficult to be on the foredeck in the dark trying to take poles up and down that we use to pole out the genoa. It all depends on the wind strength and direction and that changes often.

Our trip was uneventful and out passage went well. No fires and nobody fell overboard nothing serious broke. We call that a good trip!
