"Significant Weather Event"
19 January 2016

Well, here it is January 19th and looks like winter is going to finally arrive this weekend! The official forecast is for a "Significant Weather Event" Friday night into Saturday. I guess I am showing my age as we used to call these "SNOWSTORMS". My how times are changing!
We will be heading to Albany today(Dr. visits), plan on stopping by HON to check that Avalon is covered well and prepped to "weather the storm", also need to recharge/top off her batteries.
It has really been enlightening to follow the various posts since joining "Sailblogs". Kind of gives a different perspective on how the weather affects us all. Straight line winds causing damage in the Islands, cold and rainy in Florida, many reports of high winds/tornadoes, lightning strikes, anchors not holding at various locations. Sailing/living aboard can certainly be a challenge at times! As we here in NY "batten down the hatches" to get through our winter season woes, we find it "warming" to see pictures of people snorkeling, wearing shorts, tee shirts, and flip flops.
Warmer weather/retirement is just around the corner!
