Friends departing for the South
10 October 2016 | Catskill, NY
Pete/very windy cool
Today our friends Dean & Susan(s/v Autumn Borne) left Catskill heading for warmer weather, they made Haverstraw bay in record time with a strong 15-20 knot tail wind and settled in for a dinner of Tuesday Surprise(even though it is Monday)! We are hoping to be following them as soon as the house sells. Currently we have been spending a lot of time looking for a larger cruising boat 40'-46'. We will be keeping in touch with them along the way and are now looking forward to visiting with them over the Thanksgiving holiday.
So... today after seeing them off we began the task of unloading Avalon in preparation for winter storage at HON-a depressing yearly chore. After a great lunch at Creek-side we headed for home, water hauling, unloading the car, laundry and other chores we have been putting off. As we completed everything we could not help but to wonder when we be able to make the change in our lifestyle we so desire.
Captain Muttley is even in the doldrums having to leave for home... He enjoys the walks and spending time on Avalon!
