Well.....our 10 day whirlwind trip south is coming to an end. We accomplished many of our goals of visiting with long lost family, however the one big disappointment was that we did not find our son Bill whom we have not seen or heard from in over two years :(
Our visit to St. Mary's Georgia for a "cruisers Thanksgiving" with our good friends Dean & Susan aboard their sailboat "Autumn Borne" was the highlight of our trip! We now more than ever are looking forward to cruising as "live aboards". However, we now realize we will need a true cruiser to accomplish this lifestyle change. Our current boat s/v Avalon, a racer/cruiser is just not large enough!
Another benifit of this trip is the realization retirement for us will be a welcome change-one we are both ready for!
Spending time with family, friends and alone together(see pic, Sand Key Beach)this past 10 days has been another highlight which we both have enjoyed immensely and are looking forward to in our future....
