23 October 2017 | Spa Creek, Annapolis
Pete / upper 60's- nice
After a grueling 36 hour Motor sail from Atlantic Highlands down the Jersey Coast up the Delaware through the C&D Canal we arrived at the Sassafras River, a beautiful Anchorage, Hated to leave! After a few minor repairs to Avalon caused by eelgrass blocking our water intake anchor was up at 1000 hrs and we were on our way again down the Chesapeake's and on towards Annapolis. The winds were favorable for a while so aired out the sails, flew main and jib-Great to have the sails up but we still motor sailed. Arrived in Annapolis at approximately 1630 hrs and attempted to anchor in the back of spa Creek by Old Woman's Cove-no luck getting our anchor to catch, nothing but mud on the bottom so we called the harbormaster and took mooring 67. After getting settled we launched our dinghy and headed to shore to meet my sister Donna and Chris who live in Annapolis. Chris picked up our boat buddies Dean and Susan from s/v Autumn Born (anchored in Weems Creek) and took us all all to the Annapolis yacht club for dinner! See picture, a great time, which went too fast! We then dropped off Dean/Susan and dinghied back to Avalon to crashed and burn, boy were we tired! What an experience this has been so far! We are really enjoying this cruising lifestyle! Sent from my iPhone
