Sailing with Celestial's Tripp

We are a Tripp 47 racing boat turned cruiser that we bought in Maine in 2009. We sailed it through the Panama Canal and up to Seattle then back to Mexico and over to Hawaii in 2012.

Too hot for our Seattle blood
Our fans are ALL in use as we get back to tropical mood. It has only been a week and Honolulu is extra hot this time of year.

As you may remember, we left the boat in February to fly to Panama and skipper a 74 ft boat, Caribbean Reach up to Mexico. There was a team of 11 YWAM students who did outreach in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico. It was a new and learning experience for us but we were glad to help.

In May I flew right back to Seattle since our son, Nathan was getting married and Celeste was graduating and I wanted to be there! Scott flew back to Honolulu in June, made sure all was well with the boat and Victoria then flew in to Seattle as well. The wedding was wonderful and we couldn't be happier with Madison. I'm sure they will join us along the next trip.

Victoria, our tortoise is fat and sassy thanks to our friends, Dave and Darla on 'She's got issues'. Look for her new picture in the photo gallery. Had to include some of Celeste's pictures also. She has that artistic eye. In case you haven't heard, Celeste, our daughter finished up her art degree at the U of WA and asked us to consider sailing to Australia, her birthplace! So we're looking through 'Landfalls of Paradise' to plan our trip. So far we're talking about allowing two years to sail through Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji and Tonga, New Zealand and Australia and sailing back through the Marshall Islands. Stay tuned! Good luck to Oracle USA, its been fun to see America's Cup races from the Hawaii Yacht Club.
