Tropical Storm Bertha is Birthed
03 July 2008 | Salinas Puerto Rico
Capt Chris
Tropical Storm Bertha forms is the eastern Atlantic to the South and west of The Cape Verde Islands. As some of you know Christa and I are sticking it out here in the hurricane zone for the summer. Myself and all the other cruisers here in Salinas watch the weather very very closely. As I have written about before, the key reasons I decided to hunker down in Puerto Rico was the availability of safe "hurricane holes" on the southeast coast of Puerto Rico. I will see about posting a satellite photo of the Los Jobos hurricane holes soon.
My sister Tracy and niece Alexa arrived for a visit and few days back. We spent two days camping on Flemenco Beach on the Spanish Virgin Island of Culebra. Details to follow.
