Demasiada has been at anchor here in Hanalei bay on the North Shore of Kaui for the last week! The weather had been great with sunny days and scattered showers at night. A little rolly but nice! We had the dinghy engine looked at by a local mechanic and it is running great now! The new raw water pump arrived from West Marine and we tried to install it this morning. Unfortunately the fittings are not the same so we need a larger part. Hopefully at City Mill in Princeville! All is well and we are enjoying our time here visiting family and BBQ on the beach! Had a great time with Carolyn and Dave on Crazy love when they were here! Plan on staying thru Labor Day!

We left Oahu Wednesday after the hurricane had passed. Had no luck getting the new auto pilot to work so we left with out it. Sailed over to the lee of Oahu and had to turn on the motor when the wind died. The raw water pump was leaking and the packing gland was also, so we decided to stay in. Pokai Bay for the night and make the repairs. Left at dawn for Hanalei Thursday. The sail over was a bit torturous at times as the sea state was confused with a north swell at 5 ft,a South swell at 5 ft, and a wind swell of 4 ft. Wind was consistent at 20 gusting to 24. Rick drove the entire way except when it mellowed out the last few hours when I could finally drive. We arrived in Hanalei at 9pm in the dark but had no problem getting in and setting the anchor. This is one of our favorite spots in the world and we are planning on stayin here for a few eeeks weather permitting!

After testing most of the systems in preparation, the autopilot pump set has decided not to continue on with us. A new upgraded pump has been ordered and should be here in time to install before the estimated time of departure!

As the summer flys by, we are about ready to finally take Demasiada over to Kauai for a few weeks! Departure date is on or around August 10th.
