Today is a beautiful day! It really helps your attitude when the sun is shining. Although it is Memorial Day back home, it is Whit Monday here in the Bahamas. Yep-a holiday so everything is closed. Rock Sound is a nice sized village and we have yet to check out all the stores, etc. since most of them are closed on Sundays too.
We decided to take a walk and check out the Ocean Holes on this island. There are 2 within walking distance. These are big huge holes in the island that go way down (over 600 feet) so the water in them is ocean water. One of them is right in town and has been made in to a park area. I guess it is the town's main swimming area. The other one we looked at was in the scrub area off the main road. There were some cave area around the edges but we decided not to climb in. It was good to get off the boat and walk. We realized the kids had not been on land for 8 days!!
