A December to Remeber or Forget
03 January 2015 | Key West Bight Marina, Key West Florida
Ed/ Fantastic as far as I know
This is a late post, and to many of you the information is old, but December was a month to both Remember and Forget.
First the parts to forget, following completion of the boat project on December 7, we packed and prepared to head to Cleveland on the 8th. The morning of the 8th started off very bad and got worse, I went to get out of bed and found my left foot was swollen, and the ankle almost rigid with swelling, by the time we got to the airport, I could barely walk, and by the time we landed in Cleveland, EJ was on the phone with the doctor. The taxi dropped me at the doctors on the way home and the saga begins.
That Saga continued right through a trip to the emergency room in Key West on New Years Eve. Mega-doses of Antibiotic later, I could walk, but not much else. we will be extending our stay in Key West for a few days while the take home Antibiotics do their thing.
Now for the things to remember, the holidays were great, Meghan and Jake were great hosts and the holiday meals were terrific. Due to my illness, we stayed with Meg and Jake, and that was great. Also due to my illness, Meghan arranged to take a few days off from work and make the Tierra Verde to Key West trip with us, Jake joined us for the final leg from Marco Island to Key West, and we thoroughly enjoyed having the family together on the boat in fair winds and near calm seas. Sunrise on the Gulf was fabulous.
Meghan, Jake and their friends had a great New Years, I got a chance to see Ohio State on the Hospital TV, and after I got out of the hospital, EJ and I had a chance for some private Key West Time, many great memories to over power the bad.
I am still not well, and the weather is not cooperating, we will search for a window to return to Marco Island.
