Just after rounding Sable Point sailing from Muskegon to Pentwater about a mile and a half off shore, I noticed this beautiful series of sand dunes on the Michigan coast line. As we drew closer I heard the distinctive sound of engines, almost like the sound of bees. Pulling out the binoculars and training on the dunes I saw hundreds of trucks, dune buggies and ATVs. My first thought is how my students would love love this! Trucks were sliding down the dunes, ATVs were struggling up another one and dune buggies were flying everywhere! I watched until they were out of sight. You really have to zoom in on the photo to see the vehicles and picture just doesn't do it justice.
