Back on Paros

We pried ourselves away from the clutches of Naxos this morning and arrived back at Naoussa about two hours later. The newly repaired dinghy was delivered back to the boat by early afternoon, as was the Honda 15hp which, sadly, remains in a state of disrepair. It may be bound for the scrap heap but I'm going to have an authorized Honda dealer in Turkey take a second look before making any final decisions. In the meantime, we still have two oars and a son who is always looking for innovative new ways to beef up his upper body. I think I have the perfect workout routine for him....
I got to play plumber tonight after our grey water pump begin spewing stinky water all over the compartment beneath the saloon seating area and then down into the bilge. (That's the same compartment where our Apple Airport Extreme and other computer and electrical equipment are located.... for now. There's too much potential for an electrical fire to start there at some inopportune future moment.) Anyhow, after disassembling the Jabsco pump, I discovered a split in the rubber diaphragm. Fortunately, we have several Jabsco replacement kits onboard so I had everything I needed to get the pump working again. It's a simple job but it still took about two hours from start to finish, partly b/c of the learning curve since I haven't done this before.
We'll leave tomorrow morning, heading approximately 45 nm southeast to the island of Amorgos. Will spend Wednesday there before continuing on to Kos on Thursday. That's about a 65 mile hop which should take between 8-10 hours. If all goes well, by Friday evening we should be checked into Turkey.
