Yep...

Well, it's here. As if the bears waking up, the whales returning, the birds landing here again, the long days and cool nights weren't enough -- then certainly the bugs, the tourists crowding onto touring boats, the t-shirt weather, and finally taking off the hiking boots and thick socks to finally go barefoot on deck, and the piece de resistance -- the first steak on the barbeque.
Summer is here! And I'm not ready. :( Not my fault!!! I didn't feel like going up the mast at 36 degrees and 25 knots which was the day before yesterday. But I suppose there's still time. I'm nearly ready. A few more majors, and just a lot of little projects and cleaning. Sea trials too.
Then, with a heavy heart, I'll give up my 21 year old Jeep. Barely in her prime, but with some blue book telling me it's not worth anything, and just a few (hundred) maintenance items which may be a bit much to tackle, it's time to let her go. The left front wheel bearing won't go much longer either, and the axle is sealed. So at 171,000 miles she'll be retired. Hardly seems fair.
My home of the past 18 years, the Great State of Alaska, has kept me well employed. Until now. What other industry can you have 20+ years experience, be considered and expert, yet start at the bottom anytime you change companies -- in the mailroom -- with appropriate pay?! Only in aviation. Got's to love it. So time to go find work, wherever that may be. Except Hong Kong. Or China. Well, that's another long list. Miami ain't so bad. Not many bears. Few whales. A bit short on bald eagles. Mountains are rare. But work. Work is good. Lots of work.
Well, back to the baseball game.
