We went shopping for repair parts (fasteners) and the security guard at the marina where we were staying drove us around to Napa/Food Stores and to lunch at Burger King. This was Don's first Burger King in 7 months. We arrived back at the boat at about 2 PM to try to restore the rudder plate to it's original location and lock it down. We've done lots of work on the boat to insure its safe trip home. Don replaced the alternator belt, filled all the batteries with water (5 cups) and changed the oil and filter too, but the rudder plate was the most important since it was loose and moving in its register. Don asked Sue to help from Nice 'n' Easy and she made all the difference since she could slip into the stern area and reach each of the nyloc nuts that Don was loctiting on this plate.
