NZ bound

We've been sailing to NZ for 24 hrs. now. We are on our way to Minerva Reef which is 260nm south. It's been a beautiful, comfortable sail so far. We are on a broad reach with the asymmetrical headsail cruising at about 5-5.5knts. The swell is about 4ft and very far apart at about 14secs. We only had one small squall last night that packed 30knt winds and a bit of rain for about half an hour. Otherwise it's a full moon bright, mystical voyage.
There are about 15 other sailboats out here with us on approximately the same course. We are spread out pretty evenly with 5 miles or so between us. We talk about on the radio and report in as a group twice a day. This is the first time we have traveled with a pack of boats. It's nice to share the experience and comforting to know that others are aware of our position and progress looking out for everyone.
I am having Rachael send out our position reports as we connect on the radio. That way we have added safety with our family knowing our reported whereabouts and course.
I'll write more later, Janet.

Vessel Name: svkairos
Vessel Make/Model: 38 Island Packet
Hailing Port: LV NV
Crew: Clint, Janet, Joel, Colin and Abbey
About:
The Glenny family has been cruising since 2000. We started with all five of our children aboard a 50ft. Jeanneau in Tortola and sailed for 8 mos. covering all the islands from Puerto Rico to Grenada. [...]
Extra: We fish everytime we are underway. We always catch plenty and keep alot of fish frozen to have on hand. We like to scuba dive and have a compressor and tanks on board. Kairos is a great boat, very sea worthy and we would recommend Island Packets to anyone.

If it is going to happen, it is going to happen OUT THERE!
