Day 5

06 May 2009 | South Pacific

Day 5 This is a sweeeeet day! The contrast to last night makes it even sweeter! We had a cold front move through for about 6 hours dumping all kinds of rain on us from early last night to late into this morning. Now, it's bright and sunny again, and spinny is set free once more! Abbey and I took the opportunity during such a lovely sail to have a beautification day. She colored my hair for me which was long overdue.

Abbey did a fantastic job for her first time!

Next, I gave myself a manicure and pedicure. And, I got a hot shower since we had the engine running during the storms. Wow, I feel like a million bucks! Clint is so excited cause everything on this boat is working so well. He cranked up the water-maker today and it's purring away putting out the gallons, no problems. I felt so good that I made a banana cake and pizza dough for a calzone for dinner tonight!

The ocean is progressively becoming a deep sapphire blue as we continue to move into the tropics and away from the seasonal seas. I can hardly wait to go for a swim, it's been 6 months since we've been exploring the underwater world. We hope the whales are making their way North and will be in Tonga when we get there. Miss you all, the Glennys

Vessel Name: svkairos
Vessel Make/Model: 38 Island Packet
Hailing Port: LV NV
Crew: Clint, Janet, Joel, Colin and Abbey
About:
The Glenny family has been cruising since 2000. We started with all five of our children aboard a 50ft. Jeanneau in Tortola and sailed for 8 mos. covering all the islands from Puerto Rico to Grenada. [...]
Extra: We fish everytime we are underway. We always catch plenty and keep alot of fish frozen to have on hand. We like to scuba dive and have a compressor and tanks on board. Kairos is a great boat, very sea worthy and we would recommend Island Packets to anyone.

If it is going to happen, it is going to happen OUT THERE!
