Day 21
10 April 2025
• 200 Miles from the Marquesas

Squalls vomiting rainbows…. Today I got up a little before dawn to relieve McKay’s watch and I stepped out right into a little squall. Not much wind, but heavy rain for 5 minutes. Then, as the sun broke the horizon I could see many little squalls, all around us. Some were sporting their own, individual rainbows. As I stood marveling at the splendor, McKay says: “Look, the squalls are vomiting rainbows”. Well, that’s a sight and description I won’t ever forget.
Anyway, we are less than 250 miles from Nuka Hive and the ‘puter thinks we could be there in 36 hrs. It’s been a beautiful day today reaching at 5-6 kts under spinnaker with a 1.5 kt favorable current pushing us right down the rhumbline. As this will be my last blog entry, I’d like to close by expressing my gratitude to McKay and Gavin for letting me share this part of their adventure. It’s been a treat.
Thank you. -Dad
