Had a nice 4 days outside Palm Springs and enjoyed perfect weather the whole time. Photo is in the Cathedral City campground outside Palm Springs. The surrounding mountains were rugged, stark, and beautiful to view. There is a gigantic wind farm with literally thousands of wind driven generators flapping in the constant breeze. I hear today that LA is getting their share of rainstorms today so I guess we're just staying a couple of days ahead of weather again! I can see the attraction for Palm Springs, especially if you are a golfer type. Not us though, but the place is very clean and upper end oriented for sure!

The drive east on I-10 was not too testing for me except one mountain pass which was quite mild for most folks...I'm still not comfortable there yet. The rest was good, but not relaxing driving. We finally left Ca. after spending what seems like forever going the length of the state. The scenery has been great, but I don't see much as I'm focused on the road mostly.

We pulled into a very friendly campground just over the Colorado River across from the summer inferno of Blythe, Ca. It's a bigger town than I had expected. Our campsite in on the river and clean as a whistle. Only staying 2 nights and then on to the Phoenix area and some friends & Nancie cousins. This place has a nice homey feeling and we met several folks who call it their home most of the year. Four days a week, one of the residents runs a little breakfast action out of the clubhouse. For $3 you can get a decent Biscuit and gravy breakfast among several other choices all at reasonable prices. It's bring your own plate and silverware format.

Headed for Phoenix next.....
