30 November 2016 | Salt Pond Bay
Sorry about the big gap. Been having a little trouble with remote posting. Anyway, we had a couple of days in the remarkably beautiful Great Lameshur bay on the S side of St. John's then moved on to Salt Pond, a few miles to the east. It is not quite as pristine as Lameshur but has more to do with a really nice, cruiser-friendly, eco resort up on the hill and a $1 bus sevice across th top of the hills to Cruz Bay on the western end. One local described the bus journey as "St. John's only roller coaster ride" and that is about right....
Having the usual boat dramas. This morning was a total failure to start of the engine. After a lot of dragging gear out of lazarettes, reading manuals, poking at things and nervously contemplating going into Charlotte Amelie under sail power alone, it turned out to be a loose spade connector on the starter solenoid - always something......
We will do some snorkeling here this afternoon then head back to Christmas Cove to do a couple of dives before checking out the north coast.
Hope you are all doing OK.
