All the elephants have now landed

Sally sunny and much calmer
I actually wrote a lovely long post yesterday to celebrate the July 4th holiday and when I went to post it (from the marina) the connection died. so I am back at the Kent Island library to post it today.
First I hope all of you had a safe and happy July 4th. Happy Independence Day America and thanks to all the men and women who have served in our military to give that freedom to us all.
The title of this post is in reference to my father. I always think of him on July 4th it iis the date his family celebrates their reunion in Picture Rocks PA. I keep meaning to get to it one of these years but its been a very long time since I attended.
When I was a girl he would recite this verse regarding the fourth of July. It has absolutely nothing to do with sailing but I smile and think of him on the fourth because of it. I also watch for falling elephants.
When I was young and had no sense
I asked my mother for 50 cents
To see an elephant jump a fence
He jumped so high
He touched the sky
and never got back till the fourth of July
I have no idea who the author was it may have been my father for all I know.
And now to more sail related topics.
The weather system know as Arthur had us pinned to our dock for the fourth. It was a very bumpy night of rain and wind on the third and a rocky roller coaster day yesterday. SV Light Reach and her band of three were just fine with no issues or concerns. We were at the very edges of the storm. Enjoy the remainder of the holiday weekend everyone.
