We're still here but one step closer to cruising

Sally - rainy and blowing like stink
We are truly cruisers now we sold the car yesterday after final trips to the post office and the shopping center for a 12 volt adaptor for the pc and a card reader for our aging Garmin C80 chart plotter. It was sad to see her go. She has been a good vehicle and we did a lot of good traveling with her. Our additional crew member Paul arrived yesterday afternoon and settled in. It will be really wonderful to have him here for the first part of the trip. A third hand is always welcome and when it comes in the form of a talented sailor and all around nice guy it's even better. Welcome aboard Paul.
We have a deck light out that is located up the mast, it has been one of those jobs that we procrastinated on as I can't pull Scott up in the boson's chair and I would be pretty useless up there as I am not great with heights. Matt a marina neighbor offered to go up and change the bulb for us, he did go up and get the old bulb unfortunately we didn't have the correct replacement for it. That would require a walk to the store to see if they had one. The forecast for Wednesday turned out to be true to its word. The winds picked up the rain came down and we are currently pinned to the dock until this thing blows itself out. It is nasty out there. So what do you do when its rainy, cold and wet well route plan and make cookies. That dried out the boat some. Tomorrow's forecast isn't looking promising for casting off either. We're hoping this front will get a move on so we can too. Today's picture is of our summer home or so it felt at times as we spent a good deal of time behind the wheel these past few months. We'll miss her but the adventure is truly beginning now.
