Sally finally we got some warm days
Tuesday dawned bright sunny and calm the decision was made to stay a second night at the Marina in order to recover from the previous day. The crew was still tired and Paul, who had been keeping in touch with family and work while we sailed needed to get back to the real world. We were disappointed that he was leaving us a bit earlier than expected but understood his need to return home. We had a fun lunch at a local restaurant that was within walking distance to the marina before we bade Paul good bye and safe travels. We had explored the Marina grounds earlier in the morning. It's a beautiful spot reminding us of the Adirondacks area of upstate NY. The personnel were helpful and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely spot. Tuesday's weather was not favorable for travel and both Scott and I were under the weather due to some bad choices for breakfast at the local greasy spoon and that is GREASY in caps. We spent doing boat chores, attempting to figure out a way to stop the water from coming into the forward berth. Washing and drying all the linen on the boat that had gotten wet. Phew six loads of wash and chatting with some ex cruisers we met who now lived at the Marina. I plotted courses for the next three days and put the routes into the plot charter. Our plot charter works well but is old and not interfaced with the computer all the routes have to be entered manually which is time consuming and a bit prone to error (on my part).
The Coast Guard was commissioning a brand new chase boat a couple of dock spaces down. Scott was chatting with the crew and scored a tour. He was really excited to see the evidence of our "tax dollars at work"
The picture is from the shore of the Marina looking our over the docks.
