A day at the Beach

16 March 2015 | Sombrero Beach Marathon Fl
Sally its just repetitive so I'm leaving it out
We had not been to the beach in a long time and decided today would be a good one to remedy that situation. The winds are slated to be quite calm this week and so it seemed an ideal way to spend part of our day. Slathering ourselves with sunscreen, grabbing a cooler with cold beverages, and a bag with the needed beach items, books, towels and the like we headed in to go to Sombrero beach. We stopped at the local deli and picked up some fabulous sandwiches. We were surprised to find it was quite crowded on a Monday. We found a spot with a modicum of shade for moi to offer a bit of respite from the unrelenting sun. The sun is fierce down here and with our Northern skin it is easy to get more than you need. We had a lovely breeze that made the spot comfortable and we settled in just to do a bit of chillaxing. The water was great just cool enough to be refreshing and the waves were gentle. We picnicked on the beach and people watched. There were lots of families and the children were building sand castles and having a grand time. Another amazing day in paradise we are so blessed to be here! The picture is looking out at the reef from the beach if you look closely you can see Sombrero light in the distance which marks the reef.
