Sally warm and calm
We took India to the vet first thing this morning with the hopes of a good report on her stone, something like its gone entirely was our wish..... unfortunately that wish was not granted. Not only was the stone not gone it had not reduced in size at all.... So right now we are waiting for an estimate on the cost of surgery to remove it. Again this puts the plans to sail to the Bahamas on the back burner. We chatted with the vet about our options and what might happen if she did not have the surgery. The cost will not be insignificant so we are in a hold pattern until we hear from them. Our vet Dr. Courtney doesn't do surgeries so it would be with another of the clinics surgeons who will get back to us with an estimation of cost. We are so bummed, I am not looking forward to the prospect of putting our 12 year old girl under anesthetic, or the pain of surgery. The vet also put her on medication for her bladder hoping to be able to stop the leaks. Our poor girl sure has some unfortunate luck of late.
After leaving the vets we walked up to the pig for breakfast. We ran into Bruce and Rhonda from S/V Lila Jane who were also there waiting for a table. We were ahead of them on the list so when we got the call I asked the hostess if the table would seat 4 and indeed it did so they joined us. We met them last year in Lantana on our way down and it just happens that they are back in Marathon this year. We had a lively meal and it was nice to catch up with them. Rhonda and I both do the baskets so we talked basket making much to the delight of the men! After breakfast we came back to the boat and Scott headed out to Bocce while I stayed behind to clean the boat which was in dire need.
It's been warm so we are back to grilling now that the wind has subsided some. We found a new Mojo marinade and made a marinated grilled Pork Tenderloin that was super delicious. The bugs were out in force can't have it all. It is either too much wind or not enough. whine whine whine
The picture was taken by Fred (S/V Otter II) when he was up the mast the other day it's LIght Reach on her mooring. Cool or what?
