And Off We Go

26 April 2016 | Heading to Rodriquez Key
Sally sunny with very little wind
We dropped the mooring at 7:15 and followed Always and Forever out of the harbor headed to Rodriquez key where we planned to anchor for the night. We were totally dependent on the IPad, compass and paper charts for navigation, the chart plotter has apparently picked today to die. We still have depth thank goodness or we would be sitting in Marathon until it is repaired. There wasn't much wind so it was a day of motoring. It was a pretty quiet day overall and we dropped the anchor on the north side of Rodriquez around 5 PM. Robin and Greg offered to take Scott and India to shore with their pups for shore leave so we wouldn't need to inflate our dingy. We really appreciated that but not nearly as much as India! It was a long rough ride to the shore. Robin had done her research and found a place where the dogs could be walked. Previously India had no shore leave at this spot. With her stubbornness at being a boat dog and her current health issues it was really important for her to have shore leave. Thanks guys! I had some nice looking pork chops to grill so we asked Robin and Greg over to LR for dinner. We had a nice evening lots of talk and laughs with only a couple of other boats in the anchorage. A great day sailing! The picture is of Always and Forever in front of us on our way out with Sombrero Light on the right.
