Happy Thanksgiving

Sally - smelling turkey
Happy Thanksgiving to all. We are thankful for family, friends, good health and a good boat. It is just us today but we decided to cook a turkey, smelling pretty good in here right now. We watched the parade this morning and the Captain is watching football now. A quiet day overall.
We are still waiting for the part for the autopilot to arrive. We don't really expect it before early next week at best, 7 to 10 business days with the holiday thrown in makes for a long slow wait. We're lucky to have a good place to stay and Light Reach is safe and comfy at her dock. We took a trip up on Tuesday to check her out, visit West Marine and haul a bit more of our stuff up. We're now at the point where we have everything we can back on board. We still need our clothes, food and fridge items here at the condo so those will have to go in one big final trip. And after that we need to clean the condo and do one final laundry.
We decided to get India shorn one last time before we shove off, her appointment is on Tuesday. That should make the part arrive!
We've heard the mooring field in Marathon is full two days before Thanksgiving. Friends Sue and Roger on Dancin Down Wind and Fred and Karen on Otter II are already there. Lisa and Terri on Lee Sea Ann II are in Fernandina heading that way after the holiday weekend. And Bonnie and Peter on Quandary are making their way to Charleston. They will head to Boot Key after the first of the year. And I am sure many of the boats we met last year have returned. Were most anxious to get there, time to play in paradise!!
The picture is of the hurricane hole that is right across the ICW from the condo complex. The dock is free but we aren't sure about the depth. And you aren't supposed to stay after sunset. There was a good size ketch in here when Matthew made his way by here. It had lots of company. No one bothered them during the storm but they all disappeared shortly after so I suspect they enforce the no overnight stay rule.
Again Happy Thanksgiving all I hope you are spending it with folks you love.
