It has been awhile since I updated the blog, mostly because life on Light Reach has been busy but not news worthy. We still have not received a pet permit for India so it looks like we may have to send another application over. This does not make us very happy as it is quite an expensive process. Right now I am testing our fax number to see if, indeed it does work. Rumor has it there is a person who will hand carry the paper work to the agriculture office in the Bahamas, for a fee of course. We may end up using her but first I want to make sure we have a fax number that works.
We have also been waiting to see India's health status. She had another bout with her intestinal issues which scared the bejeepers out of us. She has been on a round of medication which ended on Sunday, touch wood she hasn't relapsed but we have a cautious eye on her. If she relapses we have some difficult decisions to make.
In between visits to the vet and just general chores we have been enjoying the events of Marathon. Last weekend was the Pigeon Key art festival. I volunteered at the event which was fun working the adult beverage tent. The Captain opted not to volunteer but did come with me on Saturday to wander the market and peruse the art. Lots of lovely things that we have no room for, so other than his admission fee, no money was spent. Saturday night was a concert featuring the Beatlemaniaxs but we elected to take India for a walk instead of attend. The venue is not dog friendly.
Sunday we had made plans to watch the Super Bowl with Bonnie and Peter from Quandary over at the Overseas. The plan was to meet at 5:00 when my shift at the festival ended at the restaurant, grab a table, and park ourselves for the game. We ended up meeting Fred and Karen (Otter II) on the way over and they joined us. It was a grand time. Karen and Fred left after the first half. The rest of us stayed until the end of the third quarter which, we now know, was an incredibly dumb thing to do. Who would of thunk that Brady and the Patriots would have pulled that off. We were kicking ourselves silly for missing that last quarter! We tried to live stream it on the boat but Fox wasn't being cooperative in that respect.
This week was spent doing boat chores and our usual activities Scott is enjoying Bocce on Wednesdays and I play Mexican Train dominos on Tuesdays and crafts on Thursdays. Monday was laundry and Friday was provisioning. We took the dingy over to Burdines for gas on Wednesday morning and today we took it to the beach for bottom cleaning. In between we listen to cruisers net, haul water out to the boat, cook, clean and visit. Fred (Otter II) has been working on getting his water maker up and running this week, lots of conversation there. Oh and the captain has been working on getting the loose varnish off the teak up top. Light Reach is going au natural in the teak department. As I said, busy but not news worthy and that's just fine with us.
The harbor has been checking all the moorings and cleaning the balls in the process. The picture was taken when the diver was checking and cleaning our ball.
