Provisioning Run

My youngest sister, Jill, was visiting my big sister, Abbie who is staying in our Condo with her hubby. We needed to drive up to Boynton to pick up new lenses for my glasses, which had some funky king of delaminating going on, and we also needed to do some heavy duty provisioning to go to the Bahamas. We decided to rent a car to coincide with younger sister's visit. Fred (Otter II) gave us a lift to the airport where we picked the car up on Monday and headed north. We made good use of our time, picked up my new lenses, checked into the hotel and had lunch with the sisters and brother in law before heading out to the package store. It was a good thing we had rented a larger car (Chevy Malibu) we filled two carts at the package store and then headed to Target for some non-perishables. With beer at 50 dollars a case in the Bahamas its quite a savings to bring some with you. We met up with the sisters and brother in law again for dinner which was terrific. It was fun getting caught up and we called the missing sister, Mary while we were waiting on our food. The evening went by all too fast. We enjoyed having hotel amenities if only for a night. Wow a hot shower with no flip fops is a real treat.
The next morning we headed to Wal-Mart where we managed to spend a couple hours and lots of dollars picking up more provisions. Getting most of our heavy stuff with a car is so much easier than toting it back in our little pull behind carts. The car was loaded with our stash of booty and we headed back to Marathon. We had the car until Wednesday which gave us some room in the time department so we did not have to rush to get back before the rental counter closed. When we got back to the Marina we ran into Roger and Sue who offered to help us get the stuff back to Light Reach. Four dingy loads later, Light Reach's water line was lowered a bit and it was all on board. We were really too tired to put it all away plus I needed to make sure I knew where I was stashing everything so we can find it again. Hard to believe you can lose something on a 37 foot boat but it happens!
It was Fat Tuesday and the marina was having a pot luck supper but we had eaten along the way and took a pass on what I hear was a great party. The pictures sure do look it. After getting everything secured for the night we headed to bed.
We returned the car this morning and now it's time to stash all this stuff!!
The picture is the back of the car taken from the passenger seat with our load of goods.
