I want to give a huge thank you and shout out to the folks at Chewy.Com. What a class act they are, just exceptional. They are the company where we ordered India's prescription diet and supplies. We had acquired quite a bit of dog food for her trip to the Bahamas, knowing it would not be available over there. I decided to see if by any chance I could return it. I went to their website to see what the was the company's return policy. Unopened items that were purchased within 365 days were returnable. A phone number was listed where you could obtain a return number and get instructions for making the return. I called the number and they were amazing. When I explained why I was returning the food the customer service person could not have been kinder. He expressed his condolences and asked about India. Her age, what breed she was etc and was just so sympathetic at our loss. I detailed the items I wanted to return which he found on our order history. He explained since the items had been ordered at different times it would be credited to our card in three amounts. We had two cases of canned food, two large bags of her dry food and two boxes of probiotic powder, after determining the credit I waited for him to instruct me on how to package and return the items and give me a return number for shipping. Imagine my surprise when he said that we need not ship back the food but to please donate it in India's name to a local shelter. My mouth almost hit the floor how generous and thoughtful of them! It was not an insignificant dollar amount. I was astonished and very very touched.
We took the food to the local shelter with the instructions to donate it to those with limited means whose pups needed such special food in India's memory. They were very grateful for the donation and quite surprised as well.
Then today as I was crafting with the other cruising ladies in the marina common room I received a phone call from the office. I had flowers waiting for me. Flowers??? It wasn't our anniversary or my birthday who could be sending flowers? Well it was the folks at Chewy.com sending them with their sympathy at our loss of India. I was overwhelmed with this company's thoughtfulness and kindness. The flowers are just gorgeous but their over the top generosity and actions have touched us beyond words. Thank you Chewy!
The picture is of the flowers they sent.
