Heading further south we stopped to see Sue and Roger on Hilton Head Island. They were setting those roots down fast! LOL They have joined a cycling group and a bocce league for starters. We had fun watching them play bocce and then had a game ourselves after the league play. Our three day visit was over in a heartbeat. We’re going to miss them this winter.
Instead of doing the long trek back to Boynton in one shot we decided to stop in St Augustine for a night. We had planned to see Mark (Scott’s cousin) on the way back but he wasn’t available. I found a relatively inexpensive hotel within walking distance to St. Augustine’s beach. We had a relaxing afternoon on the beach and a quiet evening. We pulled into the parking lot at the condo mid day on Sunday Sept 30. The official end to our travels north.
The camping turned out to be splendid. We enjoyed it very much. The air mattress worked wonderfully in the tent, really comfortable. It does take some time to set up camp but we’re getting better at it. We’re looking forward to doing more next summer.
Roger took this picture of Sue, the Capt and I on the beach, Hilton Head.
