Sally | quiet
It’s been quiet on Light Reach since I last wrote. We’ve managed to do our Christmas shopping on line and have decorated the boat. Our little tree is up along with our stockings and we have lights on the bow and in the cockpit. There are quite a few boats with lights on the docks and in the mooring field.

We had a cold front come through a week ago which has put the temps down into the 50’s at night. It makes for good sleeping weather and we are warm and cozy in our berth. We put up the enclosure which is allows us to sit in the cockpit on cold windy days and protects from the rain too. Yesterday we had a full day of off and on downpours. We had gone in to do an errand run and got caught in it coming back to the boat. Both of us were pretty much soaked. Our 4 HP Yamaha engine for the dingy is giving Scott fits. On the way back in the rain we thought it was going to give up the ghost. It kept kicking out of gear and wouldn’t idle properly either. He had to fight with it when we first went in the water because the needle and seat was not working properly. He had taken extra precautions when we stored it for the summer but the motor trolls were up to their antics. We thought it was fixed when it started acting up again a couple of days ago. During a break in the storms yesterday we swapped the Yamaha out and put the two stroke Johnson on the dingy. So Scott’s project list got a little longer as he’ll need to tear the Yamaha down and hopefully fix it.

We did make a trip down to the condo last weekend to do laundry and restock from the freezer there. It may sound crazy to haul our laundry down there but I like the facility better. The laundry room at the condo is in a screened in out building. The one here is an air conditioned interior room. The idea of fresh air appeals to me right now. And I can put the clothes in to wash/dry and then go back to the condo. Here I would have to wait outside by the coffee shop crowd or sit in the car. We also take advantage of the shower while we are there. LOL yes we do shower more often than every 10 days.

A shout out to Patti and Paul, nice to know someone reads the blog 

The picture is our neighbors, Veronica and Tom’s boat “Toucan Share”. She is a Vagabond 42.
