Lisa Jo's 1st visitor

My brother Kevin was visiting from San Fran. He was the 1st visitor Lisa jo has had. We were able to squeeze in a few hours on the water. I have never seen the bay as flat as this. We spent a good hour motoring out toward Dog Island, waiting for a breeze. Just as I was about to give up hope of getting any winds over 2 knots, i saw ripples drifting towards us. The winds picked up to around 8-10 knots for a while. Nice!

Nice spring sail

We were supposed to take dad for his first sail with us today. Unfortunately, his back had other ideas and he was unable to go. Lisa and I spent around 4 hours in the sound off Dog Island. Our only sailing grounds to date. The day started off a little too bumpy for Lisa's taste. The water calmed enough a little later to calm Lisa and the rest of the sail was some of the best yet. Even getting organized to drop the sails, get all our gear together, and get the boat on the trailer was as smooth as ever. I think we're starting to get the hang of this. Makes for a lot more fun when the hard work goes easy.
While we were out on the water Mom called to ask us to dinner. We ended up going to "That Place on 98". A great litle reasaurant just east of Eastpoint. You can't find a better raw oyster anywhere and the crabcakes are nothing to sneeze at either

Maiden Voyage

MAIDEN VOYAGE! After several unsuccessful attempts to get the C18 launched due to incompatible ramps and a couple modifications to the trailer, we finally got her afloat. It was the hottest day of the year. I got extremely hot and dehydrated so Lisa spent most of the time at the helm. Lisa sailed her extremely well, especially considering it was her very first time on a sailboat. She picked up the feel of the helm very well and made no drastic mistakes. Maiden voyage was a success.
