Barbara/rainy day
We've been underway for 10 weeks now, finally have an anchorage with reasonable internet connection, it's rainy, the fridge and heads need cleaning, so Barbara finally gets on with the blog.

A brief history of voyage till now: escape from Deltaville on May 20, Annapolis over Memorial Day weekend, the trip from hell down Delaware Bay, refuge and recovery in Lewes' breakwater harbor, new batteries and O/N at the dock in Cape May, up the coast with little wind, entering New York City in the fog, 10 days on a mooring at 79th Street Boat Basin, escape from Manhattan June 17, Long Island Sound, Martha's Vineyard, Thick fog through pollock rips to Cape Cod, whale sightings, 10 days over Independence Day in P-town, picking up Nick McCoy in Boston July 5th, after freeing a badly fouled anchor a windy O/N passage to Casco Bay in Maine, visiting friends in Chebeague, another night at dock in Portland, 6 loads of laundry and several long showers, a visit to The Basin, dodging 1,000,000 lobster bouys on the way, on to Penobscot Bay where Maine's summer drought ends and rain and fog live up to reputation.

Rockland rocks. An easy spacious harbor full of sailboats (many of them classic schooners), a friendly harbor master, good grocery stores, Hamilton Marine, wifi signal out past the mooring field, an excellent sushi restaurant ...
