After a morning visit from the Custom's Officers, we dinghied back to the Harbour Master's office to meet Dewi's brother.
Boarded by four friendly Customs' officers.
Arriving back at the Harbour Master's office with our jerry cans at 1:00, we were entertained by Dewi and her Supervisor until 2:30 waiting for Dewi's brother's meeting to finish. Both Dewi and Oki then drove us to Sumbawa Besar, helping us with diesel, phone credit, fruit and veg etc.
To top it off, they took us to see the historic Dalam Loka (Sultan's Palace) built over 200 years ago.
Throne where the Sultan received visitors.
Such an amazing experience - the extent to which the local people will go to help us foreigners is truly incredible!
14th Nov: We were so surprised and grateful for Dewi's generosity that we returned this morning to present her with some gifts, including a book for her daughter about a turtle on the GBR who children rescue from plastic entrapment.
Hoping to start the next generation thinking about the impacts of plastic on marine life!
