We delayed our planned departure from Mexico by a day, and instead pulled anchor at 11:30 last Sunday. Local advice given was for light winds Sat and Sun picking up through Tues and Wed with a good northwesterly coming down the Sea of Cortez for 3-4 days, to give us a nice push-off. Of the 30 or so boats leaving from Banderas Bay approx a third had already departed. A small, impromptu group of 3 boats anchored with us in Punta Mita on Friday night (a nice little bay on the northern coast of Banderas Bay), our last hook to solid ground. They included sv Patience (Ernie with his pickup crew member Irania); sv Aftermath (John with his two pickup crew); sv Dazzler (Dan and Jilly), and us. Ian was at the worst of the flu, so we decided to wait another day to give him some rest.
